The word for November is HARMONY  – a situation in which people are peaceful and concur with each other, or when things appear to be correct or appropriate together. How ironic that I write this in the midst of noisy chaos.  It’s day 4 of our floor replacement project and I’m longing for harmonious stillness, order and organization to return.  I’ve been using EFT extensively (there may be bruises) to get through this, yet it is harder than expected.

Holidays can certainly be a challenge for harmony. Living in harmony requires attention and action.  You can only be in harmony with others when you’re in agreement with yourself – living consistently with your most profound feelings of what is genuine and what matters most.

Consider these three excellent ways to promote harmony in your world this holiday season:

  1. Use your voice: Speak up, ask for help and have difficult conversations to clear the air. Sometimes others are clueless and need more information about how to bring harmony into a situation. Singing, talking and even screaming can help free up stress in the body too. Just be intentional and do no harm.
  2. Emotional Freedom Techniques/Tapping – balancing the energy of heart, mind and body through tapping on meridian acupressure points is an outstanding way to prepare for harmonious encounters and to heal relationship wounds.  The research continues to support how this simple process neutralizes the stress response and helps you regain clarity and confidence.  It is an incredible way to stay present and feel safe.
  3. Set and Honor boundaries – Suffering can be avoided by simply saying NO, setting limits for your holiday visits or requesting that the subject of conversation move to a new topic.  You can even refuse to show up if that is what you need most.

Surprise yourself by taking charge of your experience this holiday season.  Even when you think you’ve lost control of a situation, remember that you can take steps to help yourself feel better.
