Ever heard of a wonderful book by Julia Cameron called The Artist’s Way? I’m currently facilitating a couple of groups through the 12 week Artist’s Way journey and continue to be astounded by the wisdom available through this very simple program. What keeps occuring to me is that Artist’s Way integrates so many of the fundamentals of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), through intention, thought, belief and action. As I also integrate meridian tapping with my study group, it clicks together so beautifully.
Both EFT and Artist’s Way suggest getting face to face with your fears and negative thoughts. This allows you to identify what’s really bugging you and gives you the freedom to choose something else (only if you want to).
The Artist’s Way invites us to look at our “blurts” – those horrible negative things we say about our selves inside our heads.
One of my chronic blurts is:
“I’m not a very good writer – someone has already written about this and I’m sure they did it better than I ever will.”
Nasty stuff huh? But here’s the beauty: every blurt provides material for crafting a positive affirmation and an EFT healing set-up statement.
Example blurt turned into EFT Set-up Statement:
“Even though I’m afraid to write because I don’t feel original or professional as a writer, I completely love and accept myself anyway.”
Blurt tranformed into Affirmations/Choices Statements:
“I am a communicator with a message to share. I give myself permission to express myself and trust my call to writing. I choose to write anyway, as a path to my wholeness as a human being. I trust the process.”
See if you can jot down one of your own blurts or discouraging thoughts, then work some magic of your own. There is a brighter side to the situation which you can create. Accept reality and step into the light of transformation.
Hello…Thanks for the nice read, keep up the interesting posts..what a nice Thursday
