2013 Holiday Book Exchange

On Dec. 11, 2013 my women’s networking group, The Indigo Connection, met for our annual holiday breakfast and book exchange. It was an especially cold day and many members were unable to attend due to illness. The ones who braved the dark, cold morning found plenty of warmth in the room. We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast provided by Nancy Coveleskie of Heritage Consulting followed by revving up our energy with cross crawl, tense-release moves and several rounds of positive AFFORMations for relationships, money and health. Special thanks to Claudia Taller for snapping photos which you can check out on The Indigo Connection’s Facebook page and to Jan Lewis for taking notes for the book list.

Below is a list of the excellent books that were shared:

I Feel Bad About My Neck Nora Ephron
Listography – Your Life and Lists Lisa Nada
A Chicken Soup for the Soul Christmas Jack Canfield/Mark Victor Hansen
You Can Heal Your Life Louise Hay
Speaking Your Truth Lisa Schultz/Andrea Constantine
Food for Friends Sally Paisley Vargas
The Gifts of Imperfection Brene Brown
The Compound Effect Darren Hardy
StrengthFinder 2.0 Tom Rath
Important Things to Remember Mister Rogers
Divine Guidance Doreen Virtue
Tea Chings: The Tea and Herb Companion Ron Rubin/Steward Avery Gold
Miracles Happen Mary Kay Ash
The Why Café John P Strelecky

I also shared two additional favorite books as part of my holiday message to for the women:

Pussycat’s Christmas by Margaret Wise Brown: This is a book I purchased years ago from at checkout display at Burlington Coat Factory because of the gorgeous illustrations done by Anne Mortimer. You see, the little cat pictured throughout the book looks exactly like our little cat Sig who my daughter Mandy received as a Christmas gift in 1997. If you have kids or grandkids, you might want to get a copy for special holiday reading.

Something More – Excavating Your Authentic Self by Sarah Ban Breathnach. This book is a treasure of thoughts and ideas about nurturing yourself and living a life of meaning. There is no need to settle for anything less. I enjoy that this book is presented in short segments so that it can be read a little at a time. It has given me some ideas for the retreat in 2014 too.

While you are shopping for books, consider picking up a copy of The Artists Way by Julia Cameron too. It is one of the most powerful and helpful books I have encountered for opening up creative flow. I’ll be leading two new 7 week courses, both online/teleclass and a Saturday afternoon live group study which will integrate this book starting January 18. Learn more about the live class at http://tinyurl.com/mwbh84m and the teleclass at http://tinyurl.com/k5aq6yw

Have fun snuggling up with a great book this holiday season and know you might just be inspired to change your world as a result. Merry Christmas!
