Standing in a vineyard amidst the grape harvest with a perfect September blue sky and the company of happy people, two words immediately came to mind – proud and grateful. This was fall retreat day and it was flying by with ease. Having spent the morning with a small group of incredible women empowering inner peace, the second part of the day had brought us to by motor coach to the Vermillion area to tour three unique wineries.
Proud…..
• To have created this day to celebrate my company’s 8th anniversary with clients and friends.
• The women who attended the retreat truly engaged in self-improvement and created some very positive shifts.
• Ohio’s wineries are something to shout about. I had no idea these wineries were impressive and the new wines created with hybrids (especially the reds) so wonderful. If you haven’t visited an Ohio winery lately, you will be pleasantly surprised.
• Visionaries like David Benzing (Vermillion Valley), Bob Matus (Matus) and the Cawrse family (Paper Moon) for starting vineyards and making excellent wine in northeast Ohio.
• My friend Claudia Taller did a marvelous job choosing these vineyards and organizing our itinerary. So proud to have partnered with her.
• To live, work and play in the great state of Ohio. The state agriculture service and OSU have contributed to the growth of these amazing new agricultural ventures.
Grateful….
• For the sunny, warm and beautiful day that made it a pleasure to be outdoors.
• To be working on this beautiful September Saturday and having fun the entire time.
• My parents accepted the invitation to attend the winery tour with us.
• Both the morning and afternoon groups were such delightful and pleasant people to work with. Amazing customers are the reason my business has been so satisfying.
• The chance to pick and taste Ohio grapes straight from the vine. I especially loved the Chardonnay grapes at Vermillion Valley.
• For the warm welcome and time with the winemakers at all three stops, especially knowing this is one of their busiest times of year as the harvest comes in.
• For Claudia’s expertise and assistance with the winery tour
• Safe and professional travel with William, our driver from Lakefront Lines.
• For all the positive feedback forms completed by my guests who invested their time and money in this special day.
• Having energy after the event to clean up the clubhouse, to put supplies away and finally to spend the evening with my son and husband watching a video (and not falling asleep). Hurray!
