Have you ever had a day when something became crystal clear? Yesterday it happened for me!
Finishing Claudia Taller’s new book, 30 Perfect Days, was the day’s priority. I had set the intention of helping her by posting a review on Amazon. Claudia was inspired to write it during an Artist’s Way with EFT seminar I facilitated several years ago. Reading it now awakened so many shared experiences Claudia and I lived during those 30 days. This memoir gave me new respect for how writing is a huge source of joy in Claudia’s life. Claudia needs to write almost as much as she needs food or water. I also recognized that as much as Claudia and I share so many common passions, I would never put writing that high on my list of priorities.
Later that day, I headed off to Beachwood for a NAWBO program featuring Lisa Mallis from System Savvy Consulting. Her topic was “How to Finish the Year Stress Free and Productive”. I was keenly interested in her take on life balance.
Lisa had us write down what an ideal, stress-free, productive holiday season looked like, then also had us identify what we needed to accomplish. She helped us list what boosts our productivity and what sucks it dry. My personal ah-ha came when I recognized how fitness, exercise and sleep were listed as high priorities for the stress-free year-end and also a way I reliably recharge.
Immediately it’s obvious that my passion for vigorous physical activity and sleep are just like what Claudia finds through writing. My perfect day includes sweating to the point of exhaustion, followed by 8 hours of sleep! Honoring those essentials is what allows me a highly balanced and productive life and the integrity to educate others in their pursuit of balance.
The coincidence of the Lisa’s presentation and Claudia’s book falling on the same day made it obvious that we are all wired a bit differently when it comes finding our bliss. I hope each of you have the chance to read Claudia’s book (get it on Amazon.com) AND to see Lisa Mallis present. Both will help reveal your truth.
My challenge now is to integrate the truth I’m aware of more fully into the productivity and impact of my business and life. Is there a way to turn a vigorous workout or sleep into a new product or service? I’ll be thinking about that.
