Anyone visiting my home office has been warmly greeted by my friendly receptionist, Grace. Not your typical office worker, Grace is a golden retriever, just 3 years old. I added Grace to my life the same week I quit my last job and before I started my present business. She was a replacement dog- to fill the void that emerged when my 4 year old Golden, “Kelly” died in my arms after we discovered she had tumors on her heart. I needed “Grace” and this new energy came to my life when I had time and motivation to tend to a puppy. What a blessing.
Gracie loves people and she has a way of making my visitors feel welcome. She especially likes leaning on their feet when they come in. “Leaning” is how she absorbs energy and gets to know people. Most folks seem like Grace because she doesn’t jump or bark. Once she’s had a minute or so to do her greeting, I usually command her to “go away” – and she actually follows my command. Now that’s a good dog!
It’s kind of interesting that I have not yet had a visitor who didn’t like animals. I suppose that must be the Law of Attraction in full force. I can’t imagine life, and especially working from my home office (although now I also have a professional office) without Grace around.
Gracie is a constant companion, often sleeping at my feet. She doesn’t seem to mind when my chair runs over her tail or when I must ignore her. She’s quiet and patient, knowing that I usually don’t have time to walk or play during regular business hours.
Each day I am grateful for my silent 4-legged partner and for the way she makes me feel. This furry, friendly energy is an asset to my life and my business.
