Have you ever suddenly realized that some big changes were necessary in your life or work? Did you take action or seek help?
Recently I had become more aware of how my business had shifted and how my web site no longer fit the way I was serving. That was uncomfortable. I dragged my feet initially by just staying busy and ignoring the situation. The trouble was, the problem remained yet it seemed too big for me to solve. I knew changing the web site would cost time, money and if done poorly could even hurt my business.
Simultaneously, my office was becoming cluttered and stuffy. Drawers were packed tightly, files were disorganized and dust was piling up on stacks of files. I found myself taking every opportunity NOT to spend time there, taking my laptop to other places when I needed to get work done. Nine years of business memories, documents, client files and reference materials were jamming every nook and cranny of that office. My knowledge of feng shui and energy principles reinforced the shame of knowing this was not a healthy situation, yet I avoided taking time for a massive cleaning because it would interrupt more important things.
This was procrastination at it’s worst! Stagnant energy, whether it’s in the office or in your body is not healthy! I knew this fully, yet kept dragging my feet. That is until the resources lined up and I opened my heart to receiving help.
The first wave of help came in the form of a stranger by the name of Lethia Owens, branding expert. I attended an UpWoman event hosted by DeLores Pressley featuring Lethia as the keynote speaker. During her presentation, I saw what Lethia had done for others and knew she could help me. I signed up that day for a “branding consultation package”, without much information, simply trust. I thought it was only for branding and a few webinars. At that time I did not realize that it included a completely new website! In fact, once our consultations began and she recommended a new domain, and needed lots of information about my existing site in order to replace it, I became very frightened, afraid of letting go of what I’d worked so hard to build over 9 years.
Lethia helped me realize that there was a way to tie together all the services and products my business provides under a single brand, which was something I had previously found difficult to do. She also helped put that brand into visual and operational form through a web site that guides visitors to quickly find what they need. That solidified my confidence about letting go of the old and moving to the new brand, www.CreateandConnectBrilliantly.com
As the date for the conversion began to draw near, it was clear that the physical office needed a good scrub and purge. The time-consuming process had been avoided for too long. Soon I was evaluating the contents of every drawer, surface and bulletin board. Thanks to the cold weather and rain, cleaning continued for 4 days straight! It was a walk through memory lane going through all the evidence of the thousands of lives I’ve had the privilege to touch. Many trash bags were filled with paper and old files. Sensitive documents were sent to the shredder. The energy now has space to move!
In case you are curious about what will happen next, The Indigo Connection LLC will remain as the parent company, however the web page and email address will be redirected to the new domain sometime during the week of October 6. The local networking events and gatherings will continue to be referred to as The Indigo Connection Community. Private coaching and holistic business mentoring will continue too. There’s quite a bit more content on the new site to help meeting planners and the media connect with me for information about speaking, training and my expertise as a leader and healer. The new logo will appear familiar as well.
Life, technology and business have changed in massive ways since I founded The Indigo Connection in 2005. It takes an incredible amount of energy to fight change, so instead I will flow along with the changes and become part of the solution. I’m truly ready to help others transform chaos into clarity.
Check in and ask “How am I making myself clear and ready to be of highest service today?”
• What has changed most in the past 5-10 years for you?
• What’s been successful that you want to retain?
• What’s old, not necessary or ready to be let go of?
• What must be ended or removed to make room for the new?
• Is there a way to archive or celebrate what remains as well as what’s on the way out? Some suggestions might include cleaning, polishing, photographing, moving, donating, reorganizing or storing elsewhere?
If I can do it, you can too. If you need help get your energy moving, please remember to bookmark www.createandconnectbrilliantly.com and help me by sharing the link with others.
