At noon today I was busy loading my car, preparing for a short 75 minute drive home after 3 delightful days in Lakeside at my parent’s cottage. I’m always sad to leave and expressed my regret as I hugged my sister Suzanne goodbye. Lucky Suzanne gets to stay here another week. I reminded her as I headed out the door that John Ford Coley was the entertainment tonight and that she better go see him because I loved those song he did with England Dan back in the 70’s “Really Want to See You Tonight” and “Nights are Forever Without You”.
Gracie and I hopped in the car, started the engine and all seemed just fine until I reached the first stop sign and noticed that ALL of my warning lights, including “Check Engine” were on. With major storms predicted and a big dog in the car, I decided that it was silly to risk a breakdown on the highway. I returned to the cottage and arranged for a tow truck to take my RAV4 to the dealer in Sandusky. I called my husband George to alert him to the change of plans. He said he would come up to Lakeside after work if I needed a ride.
Immediately I realized the big grin on my face. I am safe and connected to the help I need. My car will be fine and I have free towing too! Better yet, I had somehow gotten what my heart had asked for weeks ago when I saw that John Ford Coley was playing at Lakeside on July 29. I thought it would be nice if George could come up after work on Friday for the show, but he had resisted the idea and I let it go at the time.
I am now more aware of the words to that song I’ve been humming all day. They have some very powerful energy!
I really want to see you tonight…….nights are forever without you!
Stay tuned for a follow-up on how this day really ends.
