Do you have a plan for honoring Mother this Mother’s Day? If you have a mother who is still living, there are so many ways you can honor her. One way is to simply say thanks. Why not also call, write, send a card, drop by for a visit or purchase a special gift? Ask her for ideas or tackle a chore to make her life easier.
I am so lucky to have a Mom who lives just a short drive away. We’re taking her and Dad out for dinner on Friday, plus I have a special surprise arranged that I plan to drop off on Saturday. I know she will love it. I’m giving her something I’d love to receive myself! I plan to take her photo with it, and will share it here with you soon.
Perhaps your Mom has left this world and transitioned to the other side. How will you honor her now? Love is the strongest force that exists. A mother will come when called and your thoughts and intentions can bring her to the edge between heaven and earth. Plan a quiet time to draw her near so that you can connect with her spirit and your fondest memories. Consider doing something that honors what she valued most – whether it is time with family, a particular charity, a beloved hobby or creating a beautiful bouquet of flowers in her honor. Allow this experience to be a celebration of her legacy.
Maybe that Mother who needs honoring is YOU? There’s no reason why you can’t honor yourself too. It is not selfish to ask for what you need and want. It is also very healthy to treat yourself to the gift of recreation, beauty, fitness, health or learning in honor of Mother’s Day.
