On July 17, 2007 at 7:11 EST I participated in a collective sending of energy – Fire the Grid.  Maybe you heard about it or participated in some way too.  A group of about 30 of us gathered that morning at Inner Harmony, the wellness facility where I have my office.  The instructions for the morning were fairly simple – we were to meditate for one hour with the intention of sending the energy of joy and love to the earth and all of its inhabitants.  By doing so, we allow the energy grid of the earth to repair, grow stronger, and to connect all living things in a more harmonious way.

As an energy practitioner this all makes perfect sense – everything is energy and everything is connected to common source energy.  When energy flows freely without hindrance or blockage, it connects, heals and nurtures.  When energy is interrupted, there can be decay, isolation, stagnation and sadness.   Anyone reading the paper might easily conclude that there are significant interruptions in the energy of our planet at this time.

Yesterday I enjoyed connecting to the grid and envisioning a better flow for all of life.  I spent the first 10-15 minutes of meditation in stillness and quiet, then found myself getting fidgetty.  I eventially moved myself outdoors and lay on the grass near the woods listening to the birds and the leaves as I set the intention of energy flow.  I practiced some yoga poses as I lay there.

It is curious to me that I am seeing energy spirals in my mind.  There is circular energy coming up from the earth, meeting the universal source energy from above and mixing in a spiral of dance which then sends a powerful wave out in all directions, as a drop of water might do as it hits a still pond.  The wave goes out, then returns like waves on a beach as the cycle repeats over and over again.  I used to see only linear energy and now I see 3 dimential spirals.  The meaning is uncertain, but spirals are free flowing and gentle.  This is probably a good thing.  Something may be changing.

During meditation I was reminded that divine guides or angels are near at all times.  I’ve been walking many miles in training for the Breast Cancer 3Day (60 mile) walk, and it made me think of the deer on the edge of the woods that I see peering curiously out at me so close to the path, only on some days.   Were they always there and I just didn’t notice before?  The guides are always there too – I can notice more often and call on their assistance.

“Fire the Grid” was prompted by a Canadian woman, Shelley Yates, who had a dramatic near death experience 2 years ago.  The entire story can be found at www.firethegrid.com and it is worth the read.  You can even see her share her story in video form on UTube.

If you missed 7/17/07, I beleive it is possible to hook up with the grid at your leisure.  Energy doesn’t care what time it is.  Collective sending of energy is powerful, but so is intention.  Do it anyway.  Send love and joy to others, including strangers and hold gratitude in your heart that something so simple can offer so much hope.  There is no risk, only healing.  Pay attention to what happens next and patiently send more love as you wait with faith.
