As the end of the year approaches, it is the perfect time to begin the process of seeing the possibilities for the year ahead and getting clear about your desires.   I personally dedicate a good portion of the week between Christmas and New Years to immerse myself in a process that results in completion of a new vision board – a visual representation of my hopes, dreams and what I hold dear.

Before jumping into the vision for 2009, I recommend making time to take stock of the year that just ended.

1.  Pull out your vision board from 2008, your journal, your original list of goals or resolutions and your calendar from the year ending.

2.  Review the highlights accomplishments and struggles from each month.  Ask yourself

What was the theme for my 2008?

What did I learn?

What am I still trying to figure out?

3.  As you examine your vision board from 2008, see what played out well and where you remain blocked.  Were there some desires that still escape you?  Did your objectives shift during the year to new things that were not represented on the board?

4.  Take note of what you are most grateful of from the year ending.  List these items as part of your personal farewell to the year.  If there are items on this list that you continue ot hold dear for 2009, make sure to include them in some way on the vision board you create for 2009.

In part two,  I will share a few tips for creating a great vision board.  In the meantime, enjoy reflecting on 2008 and noticing how blessed you are NOW.
