Halloween’s glorification of skeletons, vampires and zombies has come and gone. November 1st is traditionally a day when souls of our departed loved ones are honored and remembered around the world. In Mexico and Central America, El Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a festival that celebrates the return of dead loved ones for an annual visit. Many Christian churchs honor this date as All Saints Day, with special memorials for the departed.
Is there someone on the other side you would most like to honor and celebrate today? In my case, I woke up thinking of my husband George’s beloved sister Corrine. She lost her life far too soon in 2000 after a long battle with a mysterious illness. I recognize her spirit as a powerful force that nudged me into the field of energy healing.
Back in 2000, I was managing a group medical practice, curious about optimal fitness and the connection of the mind and emotions to physical health. I was researching best-selling alternative health books and stumbled upon one called the Ancient Secrets of the Fountain of Youth. I immediately purchased it and began practicing the 5 daily exercises it detailed. They were difficult to master, but I was up to the challenge and loved how they made me feel. I began noticing new sensitivities as my daily practice continued.
Just a few days after attending Corrinne’s funeral, I began to receive intuitive information and at times could see and feel spirits. It was confusing and even frightening. I saw two entities one morning when I was opening the office. I said nothing to anyone because I was so mystified. Corrinne began appearing in my dreams almost every night. She assured me that she was well and free from suffering. She asked me to relay messages to George. In his grief, George received these messages with some skepticism and wondered why she hadn’t simply come directly to him. At that time, I didn’t have an answer, but now understand that grief and low emotional state blocks the ability for spirits to connect with the living. These exercises, also known as the 5 Tibetan Rites, must have had the opposite effect, somehow opening my energy field to support spirit communication. Although uncomfortable at first, I came to recognize the messages and images as forms of love. How could I have lived 40+ years without this awareness? I welcomed my new intuitive abilities and vowed to put these into service.
In the years since these first gifts from Corrinne, I have studied a variety of modalities and become certified in EFT as well as Soul Detective processes, past life regression and clearing spirit energy. One thing I know for sure is that death is not the end. My Christian roots had established that belief long ago, yet this new way of connecting with Corrinne and other loving spirits (both living and departed) helps me recognize the power of consciousness. Each soul is on a journey to learn and grow through connection.
Reincarnation is soul evolution. I’ve had the honor of facilitating many remarkable healing sessions that have involved clearing trauma from past lives and a safe and gentle way. On this All-Souls Day I hope you will remember that you have access to infinite healing. You need not lose a loved one to discover this remarkable power. If you’d like help exploring this connection, I’m here to help. I’ve come to recognize that my soul is here to create a bridge for those who are ready.
